Emory Durham

Mr. Emory Franklin Durham, age 86, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018. He was born on July 25, 1932 the son of the late Sims Arthur Durham and the late Lucy Jane Parrott. He married Carol Holland on December 21, 1951. He retired from Delta Airlines in 1991 having worked in various positions for 30 years. Some favorite pastimes were working crossword puzzles, watching football, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune and spending time with family. He was a member of Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church in Douglasville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Durham and Woodrow Durham; and three sisters, Ollie Durham, Addie Chandler, and Hattie “Bea” Bowen. He is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Carol Holland Durham of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Carollynn and Michael McMahan of Villa Rica, three sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven and Janis Durham of Douglasville, Barry Durham of Douglasville, and Rick Durham of Douglasville; five grandchildren and one great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 12:00PM until 1:30PM. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 1:30 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Tom Kaplan and Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn.
