Mrs. Era Inez Edmondson Holland, age 88, of 3126 Cedartown Highway, Rome, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Renaissance Marquis Assisted Living in Rome, Georgia. She was born in Carroll County, Georgia on November 6, 1920 the daughter of the late Mr. Grover Cleveland Edmondson and the late Mrs. Ida Stovall Edmondson. She married Geston D. Holland on August 6, 1939. She lived in Birmingham, Alabama for many years and had been a resident of Rome for 12 years. She was of the Baptist Faith. Other than two years when she worked in the McDonnell Douglas Factory in Birmingham installing wiring harnesses in Bombers while her husband was serving the Pacific Theater during World War II, Mrs. Holland was a homemaker. She was devoted to her beloved family which included her invalid son, Patrick. She enjoyed her roles of wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sons, David Holland and Patrick Holland; sisters, Amy Smith and Gladys Strickland; and her brothers, Hugh Edmondson and J.E. Edmondson. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Mr. Geston D. Holland of Rome; her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Bob Moore of Rome; sister, Edna West of Temple; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM and at Narroway Baptist Church on Narroway Church Road in Dallas, Friday, March 6, 2009 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM and a Graveside Service will follow at Narroway Baptist Church Cemetery.
