Erie Dee Blackman Meherg

Mrs. Erie Dee Meherg, age 83, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia. She was born January 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Mr. Hoyle Blackmon and the late Mrs. Gracie Chapman Blackmon. Mrs. Meherg worked as a spinner in the textile mill industry. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Meherg was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Willie Meherg Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte Tyson of Cedartown and Angie Hayes of Blairsville; her son, Lanny Wooten of Rockmart; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild also survive. Graveside Services will be conducted Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 3:00PM with Rev. Charlie Timms officiating. Mrs. Meherg’s grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Garden of the Cross at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens on Hickory Level Road in Villa Rica, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Monday, September 28, 2009 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM and Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 1:00PM until 2:30PM.
