Ernest Sanders

Mr. Ernest Cecil Sanders, 79, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017. He was born April 22, 1937 in Rockmart, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. William Henry Sanders and the late Mrs. Dollie Mae Priest Sanders. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Glenda Marks on May 1, 1959 in Rockmart. He retired in 1990 from Ford Motor Company as a Relief Inspector. Mr. Sanders was a lifelong member of Lithia Springs First Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed weekly golf outings with his buddies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and most recently he became a great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, James Sanders; and sister, Geneva Steele. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Glenda Marks Sanders of Lithia Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Lorie and Tim Hutcheson of Douglasville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Pam Sanders and Chris and Lisa Sanders all of Lithia Springs; five grandchildren, Jenna, Andrea, Jessica, Kyle and Amber; one great-granddaughter, Zoey; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Inez Steele of Dallas, GA, Margie Coats of Lithia Springs, and Imogene and James Nelson of Dallas, GA; many beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be conducted Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastors Kevin McKoy and Robert Whitmire officiating. Eulogies will be provided by Danny Harrison, Jim McNeeley, Drew Mitchell, Ken Marks, and Tim Hutcheson. Entombment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
