Mrs. Ernestine Davenport Humphries, age 83, of Temple, Georgia passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009 at her residence. She was born April 26, 1926, in Fulton County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Ernest Davenport and the late Mrs. Nettie Thomas Davenport. Mrs. Humphries worked at Sewell Manufacturing as a seamstress. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Humphries was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Charles Richard Allen and her sisters, Doris Nelson and Betty Fowler. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Mr. Wilbur N. Humphries of Temple; her daughters and son-in-law, Denise and Johnny Walker of Buchanan and Donna Allen of Temple; her son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Sheila Humphries of Carrollton; grandchildren, John Wesley Walker, Jr. and his wife, Misty of Buchanan, Steven Paul Walker and his wife, Julie of Bremen, James Paul Harvelle of Tallapoosa,William Darrell Harvelle of Temple and Mike Walker of Buchanan; 6 great grandchildren, Kori Walker of Tallapoosa, Kayla Heard of Buchanan, Kaci Brooke Walker of Buchanan, Jayden Paul Walker of Bremen, Abigail Jacelyn Walker of Bremen and Ava Camille Harvelle of Tallapoosa; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, July 27, 2009 at 11:00AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Georgia with Rev. John Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery in Temple, Georgia.
