Essie L. Davis

Mrs. Essie L. Davis, age 84, of Villa Rica passed away Wednesday, April 06, 2011 at Higgins General Hospital. She was born March 14, 1927 in Polk County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. W. J. Wills and Mrs. Lena Craig Wills. She was a homemaker. She loved gardening and flowers. She was greatly devoted to her family whom she loved dearly. She attended Pine Ridge Methodist Church in Paulding County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde Akins and Ben Davis and her daughter, Margaret Butler. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Kenneth Golden of Bremen, Lillian and L. C. Golden of Bremen; sisters, Ruth Brewer of Oxford, Al., Evelyn Milam of Oxford, Al., Bobbie Wills of Valdosta, GA; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, April 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Harold Hamrick officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
