Estelle Wynn

Mrs. Mary Estelle Rooks Wynn, age 95, of Villa Rica, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013. She was born November 9, 1917 in Carroll County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Jefferson Rooks and the late Mrs. Floye Allee Cartwright Rooks. She retired from Lamar’s Clothing and was a long time member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was very active in her church, including WMU, many church committees and responsibilities. She also loved working with the children and shared her talents as a Sunday School Teacher, where she influenced many young lives. She had a great love for gospel music and sang in the Church Choir for 65 Years and was faithful to visit the Shut-ins and delivered Christian literature. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Redwine Wynn; son, Lewis Michael Wynn; sister, Ruth Rooks Lamar; brother, Thomas Milton Rooks and two grandsons, Jeffrey Wayne Turner and Brett Michael Turner.She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jim McInteer of Smyrna, Lucy and Tommy Turner of Villa Rica; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Nancy Wynn of Marietta, Lawrence and Linda Wynn of Villa Rica; sister, Martha Rooks Wood Jones of Atlanta; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Robert Benjamin and Peggy Rooks of San Diego, CA; seven grandchildren, Cynthia and Mike Lodzinski of Lawrenceville, Thomas and Angela Wynn of Aurora, CO, James and Maria Wynn of Kennesaw, Kevin and Christy Wynn of Carrollton, Jason Fowler of Chicago, Clint and Danica Fowler of Dallas and Kerri Leigh Turner of Villa Rica; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.The family will receive friends from Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mrs. Wynn will lie in-state Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 3:00 PM from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
