Eugene Stamey

Mr. Eugene McKinley Stamey, age 88, of Douglasville passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at his residence. He was born April 23, 1923 in Cleveland , TN, the son of the late Mr. Wesley Hamilton Stamey and the late Mrs. Angie Harmon Stamey. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He later retired from DeKalb County Police Department in 1981 after many years of service. He was of the Presbyterian faith. He is survived by his wife, Marea Jane Dorsey Stamey of Douglasville; daughters, Jane Arnold of Douglasville and Carol Ann Stamey of Douglasville; son , Charles Eugene Stamey of Loganville; brother, John Stamey of Winter Haven, FL; five grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. According to Mr. Stamey’s wishes he will be cremated. Inurnment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
