Mr. Eugene “Gene” Talmadge Turner, 74, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his residence. He was born November 16, 1941 in Douglasville, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Cleveland Turner and the late Mrs. Annie Mae George Turner. He worked as a Plumbing Supply Manager at Noland Company. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Douglasville. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He received the Sharp Shooter (Rifle Carbine) war decoration. He enjoyed fishing and he loved to talk and visit with people at the flea market. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Hulsey Turner on January 12, 2014; daughter, JoAnn Traylor; grandchild, Jennifer Wilson; great-grandchild, Krista Nicole Smith; brothers, Phillip Turner, William Turner, and Cleve Turner; and sisters, Edna and Catherine. He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Colin Brooks of Douglasville, Ann and John Bradley of Villa Rica, and Patricia and Scott Simpson of Dallas; brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Jackie Turner of Rockmart; sisters, Opal of Douglasville, Minnie Lee of Newnan, Ceila of Cedartown, Helen of Villa Rica, and Ann of Kentucky; grandchildren, Shannon Haynes of Douglasville, Joshua Johnson of Douglasville, Sarah Napper of Carrollton, Joseph Bradley of Villa Rica, Patty Hicks of Lawrenceville, Sandy Bevins of Dallas, and Christina Cullen of Douglasville; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. John Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Dallas. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent at www.jones-wynn.com.
