Eula Christine Watkins Aderhold

Eula Christine Watkins Aderhold, age 87, died Saturday , April 2nd. Born in Douglas County, Georgia, Eula and her husband, the late M.N. “Poley” Aderhold, a Norfolk-Southern conductor, moved to Birmingham after WWII. After having made their home in Birmingham’s Acipco community as their children grew up, Eula and her husband relocated to Crestwood. For health reasons after the death of her husband, Eula moved to Kirkwood by the River. She is survived by her sister, Tommie Carol Brown of Douglasville, Ga, a daughter, Barbara A. Petty (the late Larry B. Petty), and sons Donald (Susan) Aderhold and Douglas (Sharon) Aderhold, of Birmingham seven grandchildren, , and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, GA, and burial at Cold Springs Cemetery, Winston, GA. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Memorial donations should be made to the First Baptist Church of Irondale or the charity of one’s choice.
