Mrs. Eva Mae Leathers Dyer, age 82, of Forest Park, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009 at her residence. She was born July 4, 1927 in Paulding County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Fate Leathers and the late Mrs. Nellie Belle McGuire Leathers. Mrs. Dyer worked for and retired from The Clorox Company where she worked as an inspector for the 409 product line. She was very active in local and national politics and helped start the Pine Mountain Gold Museum. Mrs. Dyer never met a stranger and loved everyone she met. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dyer was preceded in death by her son, Henry Berry Dyer; her brothers, Claude Leathers, Harold Leathers and Hugh Leathers; and her sister, Georgia Skinner. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Henry Ford Dyer of Forest Park; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Frank Lynch of Jonesboro; her sisters, Winnie Baxter and Helen Robinson, both of Carrollton; her grandson and his wife, Dwayne and Amy Pittman of Huntsville, Alabama; her great grandchildren, Bethaney and Bryce Pittman; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Villa Rica.
