Mrs. Eva C. Walton of Carrollton, formerly of Paulding County, died Friday, April 8, 2017, at age 100. She was born in Haralson County in 1916, the daughter of Elijah F. Cauthen and Venie W. Cauthen. For the majority of her adult life, Mrs. Walton was a resident of Paulding County, teaching in various primary schools for thirty-two years. Most of this time she taught at Dallas Elementary School with the remainder at New Georgia, Union, and Beulah schools. Mrs. Walton was a longtime member of Draketown Baptist Church, where she served as pianist for a number of years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walton was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Leonard Broughton Walton, sisters: Leila Cauthen, Alta Henry, Virginia Hawkins, Tot Cauthen and brothers: Harold Cauthen, Carl Cauthen, and Spero Cauthen. She is survived by her son Ken Walton of Fairfield, Iowa, son and daughter-in-law Ron and Carol Walton of Carrollton; grandchildren Mark Walton, Annie Walton-Teter, Lee and Alex Walton, Craig and Kate Walton, Beth and David Boyd, seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 3:00 PM from the Draketown Baptist Church. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church, beginning at 1:30 for family and 2:00 for friends. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons, Mark Walton, Jonathan Walton, Lee Walton, Antony Walton, Craig Walton, and David Boyd. Interment will follow in the Draketown Cemetery.
