Mrs. Evelyn M. Sikes, age 90, of Villa Rica, formerly of Savannah, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014. She was born August 2, 1924 in Savannah the daughter of the late Mr. George Clinton Morris and the late Mrs. Adelaide Chapman Morris. She was a surgical technician at St. Josephâs Hospital and worked for the CDC (Center for Disease Control). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Raymond Sikes, Sr.; son, Thomas Raymond Sikes, Jr.; twin sister, Eleanor Stringer and sister, Lilly Poythress.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and Robert Bennett of Villa Rica; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen Sikes and Jenny Wang of Milwaukee, WI, Maurice and JoAnn Sikes of Beius, Romania; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Saint Julianâs Episcopal Church in Douglasville, Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Saint Julianâs Episcopal Church with Rev. Brandon Duke officiating. Interment will follow on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Bonaventure Cemetery, 330 Bonaventure Road, Savannah, Georgia 31404.
