Fannie Mae Maxwell Evans, 100, of Villa Rica, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. She was born on October 3, 1924, the daughter of the late Samuel and Julia Maxwell.

Fannie, affectionately known as Faye, was a quiet lady who enjoyed her time at home and with her friends and family. She was a preschool teacher for many years and she was involved in several projects for city affairs in Queens, New York.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Evans; brothers, Sam Maxwell and Bubba Maxwell; sister, Mary Jones.

She is survived by her son and daughter –in-law, Gregory and Dorothy Evans of Villa Rica; three grandchildren, Jordan, Jenay, and Jorday; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated. The family will lay her to rest with her husband John at a later date.
