Faye Allen, a beloved soul, was called to her eternal rest on October 18, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on May 12, 1940, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Mr. James Sanders and the late Mrs. Sara Matthews Sanders.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Faye is preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. Charles Allen; brothers, Tommy Sanders and Ronnie Sanders.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Everidge and son, Tony Carter. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Katelyn, James, Andrea, and Tabatha; great-grandchildren, Dezy, Liam, Gavin and Katie; sister-cousin, Susan Skinner Nesmith; as well as extended family.
Faye was a shining light in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She devoted herself to her career as an Administrative Assistant for Arnold, Golden & Gregory Law Firm, where her warm personality and commitment made a lasting impact on her colleagues. However, it was within her family that she truly found her purpose and passion. Faye was affectionately known as "the mother" and “Nanny”, titles she wore with pride and love. She opened her heart and home to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, nurturing, guiding, and supporting them with unwavering devotion and love.
A treasured companion to her husband, Mr. Charles Allen, Faye found joy in their shared adventures on Lake Lanier. They loved the beauty of the water and the serenity of nature, creating unforgettable memories together. Their spirit of exploration extended across the country in their RV, as they visited destinations like the Grand Canyon, Tennessee, and Florida, making each trip a celebration of family and togetherness.
Faye's passion for life extended beyond her family affairs. She delighted in the simple pleasures, such as taking walks with her beloved dog, Boots, indulging in ice cream, and losing herself in the charming tales of Hallmark movies or the excitement of Wheel of Fortune. Known for her impeccable style, Faye loved to dress elegantly, often adorned with beautiful jewelry and rings, reflecting her vibrant personality. A keen card player, she enjoyed many evenings filled with laughter and competition.
Her family knew her not only for her loving presence but also for her remarkable culinary skills, particularly her famous biscuits that were always a favorite gathering point during family meals.
Perhaps her most profound legacy is seen through a number of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who began their faith journeys inspired by Faye’s nurturing spirit and steadfast beliefs. Faye was proud of her active membership at Central Baptist Church, where she cherished her Sunday School classes, and having a meal at Cracker Barrell afterwards. Socializing with her beloved Central Baptist Church members enhanced her spiritual journey while building a supportive community around her.
A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date at Central Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude’s Research Hospital in her honor.
