Faye Garbers Bailey

Faye Garbers Bailey, 83, of Whitesburg, departed this life on April 18, 2025. She was born on July 24, 1941 to the late Opal Ricks Cowan and William Cowan. Faye's life was one marked by her deep commitment to kindness, generosity, and dedication to those around her.

As a nurse for over 20 years, Faye's caring nature shone brightly in her professional life. Her gentle touch and compassionate spirit provided comfort and healing to countless patients.

Faye was also known for her passion for flowers and gardening. Her gardens were a testament to her nurturing spirit, filled with vibrant blooms that mirrored her sweet and outgoing personality.

A devoted member of her church, Faye was deeply involved in various church activities. Her commitment to her faith and community brought people together, and her presence was always a source of joy and inspiration. With her classy demeanor and pretty smile, she brightened every gathering she attended, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Faye is preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Ann Messina.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Travis Bailey; stepson, Lonnie Lee Bailey; Brother-in-law, Robert Messina; as well as two nephews, Thomas Alan Brimer and Gregory Keith Brimer.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM with a funeral service being conducted in the Chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, Georgia.
