Faye Greene

Mrs. Faye Rainwater Greene, age 86, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Douglas County, she was born February 7, 1927 the daughter of the late Mr. Henry W. Rainwater and the late Mrs. Lilla Standridge Rainwater. Mrs. Greene was a homemaker and was devoted to her family. She was a strong supporter of the high school rodeo. She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Greene; son, John Mack Greene; son-in-law, Ronald Lewis Allen; sisters, Helen Hallman, Ann R. Smith, and Lorene Boyd; and brothers, Isaac Rainwater and Harold Rainwater. She is survived by her four daughters and sons-in-law, Henrietta and Ronnie Kilgore of Douglasville, Joy and Tony Lee of Winston, Gail Greene Allen of Lithia Springs, and Debby and Roy Daniell of Heflin, AL; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Janice Greene of Roopville, Tony and Judy Greene of Douglasville; and Ike Greene of Lineville, AL; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Margaret Rainwater of Rockledge, FL; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Friday, July 12, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Rev. Jason Daniell and Pastor Jeff Childers officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Megan Blackstone. Interment will follow at Douglasville City Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
