Floreen Chambers

Mrs. Betty Floreen Sammons Chambers, 81, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017. She was born November 28, 1935 in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Charles Floyd Sammons, Sr. and the late Mrs. Elizabeth Stevenson Sammons. She retired as an Administrative Assistant with Lucent Technologies. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Lithia Springs where she was very active in Sunday School and served on several church committees. She volunteered at Wellstar Douglas Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was devoted to her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Sammons, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lloyd Raymond Chambers of Douglasville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Terri Chambers of Carrollton, Toni and Eddie Turpin of Carrollton, and Tobi and David Klingensmith of Villa Rica; one son, Tracy Chambers of Lithia Springs; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Judy Edwards of Guyton and Teresa and Harry Gunter of Fayetteville; five grandchildren and their spouses, Michele and Eric Roberson, Charles and Marla Turpin, Ray and Abby Carr, Tiffany and Chris Johnson, and Amanda and Seth Hollis; eleven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be conducted Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Mike Sinyard and Associate Pastor Danny Anderson officiating.
