Mrs. Frances Jeanette McLendon, age 84 of Temple, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021. She was born June 20, 1936 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Mr. Robert Franklin Delzell and the late Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Stevens Delzell. Mrs. McLendon loved seeing her family happy and healthy. She enjoyed writing, listening and singing gospel and country music. She loved roses and helping people who were sick or in need. Mrs. McLendon was a member of Second Baptist Church in Douglasville where she loved going to church and attending Sunday School.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Guy McLendon; brother, Paul Stanley Delzell.
Mrs. McLendon is survived by daughters and sons-in-laws, Jacqueline "Renee" and Danny Rutledge of Temple, Georgia, Elisa "Richelle" and Kevin McPherson of Temple, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-laws, Ronald Wesley and Robin McLendon of Blairsville, Georgia, Randall "Randy" Guy McLendon of Villa Rica, Georgia, Russell "Rusty" Wayne and Annette McLendon of Douglasville, Georgia; sisters and brother-in-law, Marie Delores Taylor-Evans of Marietta, Georgia, Donna Fay and George Murphy of Douglasville, Georgia, Exie "Darlene" and Terry Pitts of Griffin, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn Franklin and Judy Delzell of Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Rev. David Shivers officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to The Kidney Foundation, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
