Frances Loraine McLendon

Mrs. Frances Loraine Sticher McLendon, age 89, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 at Dogulasville Terrace Square following an extended illness. She was born October 15, 1919 in Douglas County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Joseph Sticher and the late Mrs. Minnie Bartlett Sticher. She married Chester Arnold McLendon on October 16, 1937. She was a devoted member of Pray’s Mill Baptist Church where she was very active in church, Sunday School, GA’s and the Women’s Ministry. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Arnold McLendon; their daughter, Linda Joyce Hand; sisters; Audrey Bentley, Kathleen Klassan, Betty Adams and Ann Cline; brothers, Harold Morris, Jack Sticher, Bill Sticher and J.H. Sticher. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret M. and Doyle Payne of Franklin and Eleanor and Wilburn Agan of Douglasville; one son and daughter-in-law, Pastor David and Jo Marie McLendon of Epworth, GA; sister, Bobbie Gilmer of Cleveland, GA; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor David McLendon officiating. Interment will follow at the Douglasville City Cemetery. The following will serve as pallbearers: Robert Payne, Scott Agan, Wendall Hand, Jonathan McLendon, T.R. Rhyne and David Parmer. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
