Frances Spivey

Mrs. Frances Lucille Barnett Spivey, age 87, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. She was born May 17, 1929 in Anderson, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Mr. John Arthur Barnett and the late Mrs. Flora Mae Clay Barnett. She worked as a secretary at Charles S. Martin Company and Mitchell Motors. She was a member of the Woodie Fite Senior Center where she enjoyed attending many events. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Douglas General Hospital for many years. She was a Christian and a longtime member of the West Metro Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Burlee Pruitt. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-laws, Jim and Sandra Spivey of Mableton, Mike and Linda Spivey of Douglasville, and David and Faith Spivey of Fayetteville; brother and sister-in-law, Ollie and Macy Barnett of Stone Mountain; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Harp’s Crossing Baptist Church, 1183 Highway 92 S., Fayetteville, GA 30215. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Harp’s Crossing Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Senior Pastor Dennis Watson officiating.
