Francis “Fred” M. Harris, 92, of Lithia Springs, GA, passed away on November 4, 2025. He was born on September 21, 1933, the son of the late Garland Harris and the late Bessie Leola Bell Harris.

Fred leaves behind a remarkable legacy defined by his unwavering dedication to service and generosity.

Fred was the proud owner of Fred's BBQ House, a beloved local establishment has been here since 1983. His restaurant not only served delicious meals but also became a gathering place for friends and family, reflecting his deep-rooted connections within the community.

Fred’s educational journey included Law School and Southern Business School, equipping him with skills that would later benefit his entrepreneurial pursuits. A proud United States Army veteran, he exemplified duty and commitment, values that reverberated throughout his life.

A man of compassion and action, Fred was hugely active in various uplifting initiatives. He participated in many canned good drives for the local food bank and contributed resources and meals to first responders during times of natural disasters. Collaborating with Captain Herb Emory, he worked tirelessly for women’s shelters, demonstrating his profound empathy and care for those in need.

Fred was also a steadfast supporter of youth and sports, sponsoring numerous teams and events, fostering the spirit of teamwork and camaraderie among the young people of Douglas County. His involvement with the Shriners and their burn foundations was another testament to his commitment to bettering the lives of others.

He was a huge supporter of Toys for Tots and Operation Christmas, ensuring that the children of Douglas County were able to enjoy Christmas. Fred was deeply passionate about initiating Freddy's Christmas 4 Kids, a heartfelt project supported by family and friends, which will bring joy and happiness to countless children in the future.

Known for his graciousness and kindness, Fred's impact on the lives of those around him was profound. He will be remembered as one of the most giving individuals, who generously shared his time, resources, and love with the people of Douglas County. Countless meals, cases of water, and support were given to residents of Douglas County who experienced natural disasters.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Charlotte Ann Harris; brothers, Reed Robinson, Cecil Robinson and Herman Robinson; and sisters, Mary Ann Hulsey, Dot Patty, and Ruby Owen.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Harris of Smyrna, GA; sons, Todd Harris of Smyrna, GA, and Tony (Jerrie) Harris of McDonough, GA; step sons, Kenneth (Michele) Norris of Braselton, GA, and Steven (Shawna) Norris of Corbin, KY; sister, Janice Gray of Blairsville, GA; brothers, Grover Robinson of Heflin, AL, Mitchell Robinson of Waco, GA, James (Joanie) Robinson of Carrollton, GA and Wayne Harris of Smyrna, GA; six grandchildren Trent (Diana) Harris, Tanner Harris, Shane Harris, Hannah, Hunter, and Cade; three great grandchildren, Kai Harris, Remi Harris, and Rowan Harris.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel.

Funeral services will follow on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated.

Inurnment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, toys or monetary donations may be made to Freddy’s Christmas 4 Kids, with donations dropped off or mailed to Fred’s BBQ House at 541 Thornton Road, Lithia Springs, GA 30122; or donations may be made to Shriners Burn Foundation by submitting donations to Shriners Children, Processing Center, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394 with “Burn Care” written in the memo of your check.

As we say goodbye to Fred, we honor a life well-lived—a life devoted to making a difference in the lives of others. His spirit will continue to inspire and his legacy of kindness will forever resonate within the hearts of those he touched.
