Frank R. Strickland

Frank Redman Strickland, 87, of Winston, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024. He was born on May 15, 1937, the son of the late Fletcher Sander Strickland and the late Lola Mae Kimberley Strickland.

Frank had an enduring love for his family, often finding joy in spending time with them. He was an avid farmer and gardener. Frank also enjoyed deep-sea fishing, often sharing these adventures with those closest to him. Frank's life was marked by his commitment to his career as a truck driver for Mayflower and also did Septic Tank Grading a role he undertook with the utmost responsibility for many years. His work ethic and sense of duty extended beyond his profession. He also proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was a long-time member of Friendship Baptist Church. Additionally, he was a car enthusiast, particularly fond of Ford A and T model cars.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ludie Mae Huddleston Strickland; sons, Hubert Frank Strickland and Richard William Strickland; grand-daughters, Cheyenne Strickland and Pearley Mae Strickland; sisters, Shirley Merle Strickland and Reba Ellen Strickland.

Frank is survived by his children, Peggy (Lonnie) Ard of Winston and Ricky (Cathy) Strickland of Temple; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church. A private funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Friendship Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
