Franklin Delano Sparks

Mr. Franklin Delano Sparks, age 85 of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, August 20, 2021. He was born June 25, 1936 in Wallins, Kentucky, the son of the late Mr. Chester Esker Sparks and the late Mrs. Birdie Mae Estes Sparks. Mr. Sparks loved his family with all his heart. He loved watching wrestling and going fishing. He sang for many years in several gospel music groups. Mr. Sparks was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Danny Sparks; brother, James Sparks; sisters, Pauline Bryan, Emma Jewel Ward, Rosa Jenkins; grandson, Jason Oliff. Mr. Sparks is survived by his wife, who he loved with all of his heart for 54 precious years, Mrs. Kay Sparks of Douglasville, Georgia; daughters and sons-in-laws, Brenda Sparks of Asheboro, North Carolina, Kimberly Sparks of Douglasville, Georgia, Amy and Timmy Mullins of Lithia Springs, Georgia, Ashley Huff of Lithia Springs, Georgia, Tammy and Ray Pollock of Tennessee; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Della and Randy Hensley of Dallas, Georgia, Lorine and Arthur Walters of Douglasville, Georgia; brother, Chester Sparks, Jr. of Douglasville, Georgia; grandchildren, Mikey, Cody, Rylee, Kymalli, and numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home and Crematory of Douglasville Friday, August 27, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglasville Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
