Frank Parker, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, at the age of 92. Born in Stone Mountain, Georgia, on September 8, 1933, Frank lived a life full of curiosity, adventure, and quiet strength. A proud Georgia native, Frank’s journey was marked by his deep love fortravel, his lifelong passion for connecting with people, and his zest for life that remained strong throughout his years.
Frank retired from Continental Insurance Company, where he served as the Regional Real Estate Manager. His career took him across the country and around the world, sparking a lifelong passion for exploration. Among his many global adventures, Costa Rica held a special place in his heart, where he spent significant time and enjoyed residence status. Frank loved to entertain in his Costa Rican home, where he would take friends to the market, craft beautiful teak walking sticks, and tour the stunning countryside. His travels also took him to China, New Zealand, Hawaii, and across the western United States and Pacific, always bringing back stories, connections, and new experiences.
In his younger years, Frank was quite the charmer. He often left school during the day for lunch or errands and would return to chat with the principal before heading back to class. This ability to build connections and make lasting impressions stayed with him throughout his life. Frank was always ready with a story, a laugh, or a helping hand, making him someone people were naturally drawn to. His friendships, both old and new, were a testament to his genuine kindness and engaging personality. A man of many interests, Frank never lost his love for his roots. He was a longtime resident of Stone Mountain, where daily hikes up the mountain were a cherished part of his routine. His wide-ranging hobbies included flying, motorcycles, and fast cars. Frank's adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors were evident in everything he did.
Frank was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ruby Brownlee Parker; his sister, Lilian Parker Smith; and his brothers, Robert Parker, J.B. Parker, and Cecil Parker. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Parker; his children, Pamela Parker Jeffcoat (Robert), Steve Parker (Rebekah), and Stanley Parker; grandchildren Stephanie Basile, Cristy Shattles, Erin Evilsizor, Courtney Lasker, and Brian Jeffcoat; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Frank’s special caregivers, whose compassion and care brought comfort in his final years. Frank's legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A private service will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate Frank’s remarkable life.
