Pastor Franklin Leaon “Corkey” Stubbs, 79, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Monday, January 9, 2017. He was born December 1, 1937 in Hanover, Arkansas the son of the late Mr. Herschel Verner Stubbs and the late Mrs. Sarah Hettie Jeffries Stubbs. He married Lois Burnadine Morton on January 24, 1959 in Alton, Illinois. Pastor Stubbs served in the ministry for over 44 years at Lithia Christian Center, (Church at the Well). He was devoted to the Lord, his family, and his church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Junious Loren Stubbs. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois Burnadine “Bunnie” Morton Stubbs of Lithia Springs; three daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Dr. Richard LaFleur of Lithia Springs, Tonja and Jeff Terry of Dallas, and Sherri and Lanier Motes of Lithia Springs; one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Angie Stubbs of Carnesville; eleven grandchildren, Brandon, Cody, Kaytlin, Dash, Caley, Garrett, Cierra, Aundi, Ethan, Israel, and Solomon; one great-grandchild, Annie Kate; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Hubert Prewett, Gene Evans, Andrew Lang and Jeff Terry officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs.
