Fred Byrd

Fred Eugene Byrd Mr. Fred Eugene Byrd, age 83, of Powder Springs, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013. He was born May 10, 1929 in Lavonia, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Roy Byrd and the late Mrs. Carrie Lee Holland Byrd. He retired from CSX Railroad Company where he worked as an investigator for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Abel and four brothers. He is survived by his wife, Betty Belcher Lee Byrd of Powder Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Lee and Dennis Reed of Carrollton, Lynne Lee and Dale Parrish of Temple, Kathi Lee and Len Landrum of Long Beach, MS; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Special nieces, Judy Holland and Kathy Grahl of Fort Valley also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, April 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Lithia Springs First Baptist Church with Dr. Marion Beaver, Rev. Kevin McCoy and Rev. Mike Sinyard officiating. Interment will follow in Mozley Memorial Gardens.
