Fred Toby James, Sr.

Mr. Fred Toby James, Sr., age 79, of Temple, Georgia passed away Friday, December 18, 2009 at his residence. He was born March 9, 1930 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of the late Mr. Charlie James and the late Mrs. Gladys King James. Mr. James worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. In addition to his parents, Mr. James was preceded in death by his sons, Terry Dean James, Clifford Scott James and Charlie Jerry James. Survivors include his wife of over 61 years, Mrs. Leila Barnett James of Temple; his daughters, Nancy Furgerson of Temple, Brenda James of Buchanan, Shirley Rushing of Temple, Alice Couch of Jefferson, Sheila Jordan of Temple and Cathy Ballenger of Temple; his sons, Fred T. James, Jr. of Temple and Larry W. James of Temple; his sisters, Barbara Fincher and Elaine Macrae, both of Jonesboro; 30 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 2:00PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Pastor Shane Wade officiating. Interment will follow in Meadowbrook Memory Gardens on Hickory Level Road in Villa Rica, Georgia.
