Frederick Marshall Bryant died Sunday, June 5, 2011, in Douglasville, Georgia. He was born January 6, 1927, in Hollywood, Alabama, and is preceded in death by his father, Martin Jackson Bryant; mother, Shula Hammonds Bryant; and brother, Eugene Bryant, all of Alabama. He is survived by wife, Mildred Lusk Bryant, of Douglasville, originally from Alabama. He is also survived by son, Keith Bryant of Duluth, Georgia, and daughter, Pamela Bryant Copeland, of Marietta, as well as daughter-in-law, Pam Corley Bryant, son-in-law, Rick Copeland, grandchildren: Brittany Bryant Polat, Ali Polat, Corley Bryant, Lexie Bryant, Lenora Bryant, Paul Copeland, and Kay Copeland. Sibling survivors are Nadean Beeson, Jack Bryant, and Doug Bryant, all of Alabama; and Aileen Hallett of Florida. Fred was drafted out of high school for the U. S. Army at the end of World War II and served until honorably discharged in 1947. He and Mildred married on May 17, 1947 and they moved to Atlanta, where he lived the remainder of his life. He has worked for International Harvester Company, Robinson-Humphrey Company, and his real estate company, Medallion Realty in Douglas County for 35 years. Fred was involved with the Civitan Association for many years in south Fulton County and helped establish the little league ballfields at Sandtown Park in the 1960âs. Through the years, he has been a member of Oakland City Baptist Chuirch, Ben Hill Baptist Church, Sandtown Baptist Church, and Douglasville First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs. The family will receive friends at JonesâWynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
