Mrs. Gail Serena Hicks, 53, of Douglasville, GA passed away, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Southwest Christian Care in Union City following an extended illness. She was born, October 19, 1957 in Jacksonville, FL the daughter of Mrs. Irene Drawdy Branch and the late James Elgin Walls. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force where she obtained the rank of Sergeant. She was a member of the Sunset Hills Baptist Church and was self employed in the Home Health profession. Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Lamar Hicks of Douglasville, Daughter Leona White, Son, Mitchell White, Step son, Robert “Bobby” Lakin of Roswell, Mother, Irene Drawdy Branch of Jacksonville, FL, sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Rick Wood of Ruidoso, NM, brother and sister in law, James Allen and Elena Walls of Orange Park, FL, 4 grandchildren, Jacob White, Caliyah White, Daniella White and Andrew White. Funeral services will be conducted, Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 10:30 Am from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Martin “Marty” Watson and Rev. Marcus Miller officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with Military honors provided by the Robins Air Force Base Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
