Mr. Gary Gerald Stewart, 62, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at his home. He was born February 27, 1945 in Madison, WI the son of Mrs. Ethel Smith Stewart and the late Mr. Chester Stewart. He married Brenda Luther on July 29, 1977 in Douglasville, Georgia. Mr. Stewart was a member of Peachtree Community Church in Villa Rica. He served in the U.S. Navy. For many years he worked as an automobile mechanic. Mr. Stewart retired from Sears where he served as an outdoor technician. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, target practice, and being outside. He taught gun safety for the Douglas County Sheriff Department. Mr. Stewart and his wife were childhood sweethearts and had a very loving marriage. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his son, Cary Stewart. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Luther Stewart of Douglasville; sons and daughters in law, Adam and Sarah Stewart of Haughton, LA, Scott Stewart of Covington, Jason and Christie Stewart of Villa Rica, Jamey and Annette Greene of Wedowee, AL, Rusty and Cindy Greene of Carrollton, and Matt and Lesley Greene of Carrollton; his mother, Ethel Smith Stewart of Cartersville; sister, Deborah Stewart of Cartersville; 15 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, December 14, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor David Reid officiating. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
