Gary Dan Lanier

Gary Dan Lanier, 72, of Villa Rica, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, June 19, 2026. He was born on October 19, 1953, the son of the late James E. Lanier and the late Jerome Lula Mae Minshew Lanier.

Gary was a man deeply devoted to his family and honored to have served his country through his time in the US Air Force. He found great pleasure in gardening, with a particular fondness for his plum and blueberry plants. These gardens were not just a hobby but a source of joy.

In addition to his gardening, Gary had a unique passion for exploration and discovery. He enjoyed using his metal detector in search of hidden treasures. He enjoyed collecting stamps.

Gary's humor shone brightly in his community, especially through his involvement in his church's clown ministry. He dedicated himself to this ministry with a heartfelt desire to bring laughter and joy to others.

He is survived by his wife, Glynette Lanier; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and John Carman of Douglasville, Stephanie and Jason Marshall of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Julia Carman, Jax Marshall, Jay Carman, Colt Jones, Josie Carman, and Eli Marshall; sister, Linda Fuchs of Warner Robbins; niece, Ceci Klause.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel with funeral services conducted at 3:00 PM with Rev. Tim Constien officiating.

Throughout his life, Gary was known for his unwavering dedication to those he loved and his commitment to service. His legacy is one of love and laughter. Gary Dan Lanier will be remembered with great affection and respect by all who knew him.
