Gary Peek Childress

Mr. Gary Peek Childress, age 63 of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020. He was born July 23, 1957 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Carlton Howard Childress and the late Mrs. Gladys Myrtle Peek Childress. Mr. Childress was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Childress is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mrs. Geri Lynn Brewer Childress of Douglasville, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-laws, Justin Childress of Temple, Georgia, Adam Smith of Douglasville, Georgia, Chris and Maria Petitt of Douglasville, Georgia, Corey and Amber Petitt of New Brockton, Alabama; sister, Connie Kelly of Douglasville, Georgia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Amy Childress of Temple, Georgia, Lynn and Dannah Carter of Douglasville, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Private services were held at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville. A gathering of family and friends at the Childress home will follow the committal service on Thursday.
