Mr. Gaudencio Marroquin, 66, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 following an extended illness. He was born April 9, 1950 in Guatemala the son of the late Mr. Gonzalo Marroquin and the late Mrs. Lucia Juares Marroquin. He came to America to work hard and to find a better future for his family. He was a hardworking, successful family man who passed on his work ethic to his entire family. Although he was a strict father, he had a great deal of patience and enjoyed passing on his knowledge. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed growing tomatoes and chiltepes. He loved spending time and traveling with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Lithia Springs. He was a very intelligent man and had a solution for everything. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Marroquin. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Josefina Juarez Marroquin of Lithia Springs; his five children, Rosa Marroquin of Lithia Springs, Hugo Marroquin and his wife, Candy of Jacksonville, FL, Jose Marroquin of Lithia Springs, Mirna Marroquin of Lithia Springs, and Edward Marroquin of Lithia Springs; God son, Tito Morales of Guatemala; sister, Victoria Marroquin of Guatemala; brothers and sister-in-law, Pablo and Blanca Marroquin of Lithia Springs and Gerardo Marroquin of Guatemala; three grandchildren, Kandy Marroquin, Mariajose Marroquin, and Hugo Marroquin; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be conducted Friday, November 11, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Lithia Springs with Father Ignacio Morales officiating.
