George Allgood

Mr. George Donald Allgood, age 78, of Temple, passed away, Saturday, October 28, 2017. He was born November 20, 1938 the son of the late Mr. Lovey Pierce Allgood and the late Mrs. Ruth Evelyn Goldin Allgood. Mr. Allgood served in the United States Army. He was a long time farmer, who enjoyed working with his tractor. Mr. Allgood served on the board of directors of Georgia Farm Bureau for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an active member of Temple United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandchild, Jessi Wren Saunders.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha Brock Allgood of Temple; daughters and sons-in-law, Mandy and Billy Davis of Franklin, Anita and Hunter Saunders of Bowdon; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Jodi Allgood of Bremen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Patsy Allgood of Temple, Mike and Cheryl Allgood of Temple; five grandchildren, Misty and Nic Brown, Brandon Allgood, Sam Allgood, Jake Saunders and Sarah Davis; two great-grandchildren, Dallas Brown and Case Brown; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Mr. Allgood will lie in state Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Temple United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Temple United Methodist Church with Pastor Marc Dwiggins officiating. Those desiring to do so may make contributions in memory of Mr. Allgood to the Temple United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Asbury Cemetery.
