George Eddington

Mr. George Alfred Michael Eddington, Jr., age 68, of Douglasville passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012. He was born February 26, 1944 in Lewiston, Maine the son of the late Mr. George Alfred Michael Eddington, Sr. and Mrs. Theresa LeRoy Eddington. He attended Catholic schools and was a graduate of Mt. St. Charles Academy in Rhode Island. He worked for Lockheed as an aircraft mechanic and salesman for many years before becoming disabled. Mr. Eddington served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the America Legion and Legionnaire of the Year and a leader of the NAMI Georgia Family Support Group. Mr. Eddington was also a member of the 40 & 8 Veteran Organization, Steward of the Elijah Cup Group at St. John Vianney Church, Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and Knight of the Year. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Cheryl Brown and Vickie Pazak.He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Karpach Eddington of Douglasville; sons and daughters-in-law, George Alfred Michael and Tina Lynn Eddington, III of Dallas, Michael Anthony and Karen Eddington of Canton, John Michael and Stephanie Eddington of Douglasville, Timothy Wayne Eddington of Lithia Springs; mother, Theresa LeRoy Eddington of Florida; brother, James Eddington of California; six grandchildren, George Eddington, IV of Dallas, Kyle Eddington of Canton, Sean Eddington of Canton, Drew Stephens of Alabama, Justin Eddington of Douglasville, Dakota Eddington of Douglasville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 11:30 AM from the chapel of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Lithia Springs with Father John Voytech officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville.Messages of condolence to the family may be at www.jones-wynn.com.
