Mr. George Edward McAdams, 66, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at St. Josephâs Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born April 3, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Mr. George H. McAdams and the late Mrs. Rita Kivitz McAdams. Mr. McAdams was a veteran of the United States Air Force and also served as a volunteer policeman in Fort Lauderdale. He was an avid sports fan of the Philadelphia sports teams and his other hobbies included motorcycle riding and woodworking. Mr. McAdams was a member of the American Legion Post 145 in Douglasville. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Cheryl; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine McAdams, Rita and Gerald Kauffman, Elizabeth and Joseph Geraghty, Kathleen and Joseph Pacheco, Marianne and Steve Hathaway; his brothers and sisters-in-law, James F. and Celeste McAdams, Joseph McAdams, William and Cindy McAdams and John and Brenda McAdams; and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. Interment will follow with military honors rendered by Robins Air Force Base Honor Guard at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, September 23, 2006, from 10:30 AM until the funeral hour.
