George Newton Rigby

Mr. George Newton Rigby, age 89 of Winston, Georgia passed away Friday, July 3, 2020. He was born September 6, 1930 in Mobile, Alabama, the son of the late Mr. Newton Amos Rigby and the late Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Foster Rigby. Mr. Rigby proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a buyer for Sears Catalog. He loved to work on mission trips with Baptist Builders, fishing, and loved his family and friends dearly. Mr. Rigby was an active member of Ephesus Baptist Church. Mr. Rigby is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Graham Rigby of Winston, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Mark Beebe of Knoxville, Tennessee; sons and daughters-in-laws, Gary and Leesa Rigby of Ocala, Florida, Greg and Joni Rigby of Winston, Georgia, Glenn and Kay Rigby of Powder Springs, Georgia; sister, Barbara Willis of Athens, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville, Monday, July 6, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be conducted Monday, July 6, 2020 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Rev. Billy Godwin officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to Ephesus Baptist Church Missions Fund; P.O. Box 280; Winston, GA 30187.
