George Ray Byrd

George Ray Byrd, age 85, of Villa Rica, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022. He was born November 16, 1936 in Newnan, GA, son of the late Mr. Walter Byrd and the late Bertha Byrd. George was a family man; and enjoyed fishing and watching westerns. He loved his sweets, especially peppermints and peach cobbler. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Everett Byrd, Jack Byrd, Billy Byrd and Walter Byrd Jr.; sister, Betty Hurley. Mr. Byrd is survived by his wife, Rebecca L Byrd, daughters, Crystal and Josh Hill of Villa Rica, Terry Terry of Rome and Lisa and Scott Brown of Rome; son, Tommy Byrd of Carrollton; brother, Dan and Helen Byrd of Centerville; grandchildren, Katie Rae, Bridgett, Kathryn, Melonie, Rebekah, Jackson, Brandon, Brianna, Tristen, Tracey and Tamryn; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. According to Mr. Byrd's wishes he will be cremated, a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
