George William Rusher, known to his loved ones as Bill, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the age of 77. He was born on November 23, 1945, son of the late Eugene Brown Rusher and the late Vivian Duckworth Rusher.
He was a dedicated high school English teacher for many years and he worked for Sugar Foods as a dispatcher for twenty plus years.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bill was a man who enjoyed exploring various hobbies and interests outside the classroom. Among these pursuits, he found solace in woodworking.
In addition to his devotion to education and woodworking, Bill cherished close relationships with his surviving family and friends. He leaves behind his wife, Deborah Mackey Rusher, who stood by his side as a source of love. His sister, Patty and David Foil of Monroe, Georgia also mourn his loss alongside three nieces: Robin Spink, Kirsten Leet, and Megan Foil. His grand-nephew Gavin Spink will forever remember his uncle's guidance and affection.
George William Rusher's legacy will be forever engraved in the lives of those he touched through his teaching career and cherished relationships.
In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated. There are no further services planned at this time.
