George Thomas

Mr. George William “Bill” Thomas, age 83, of Temple, passed away, April 10, 2014. He was born September 27, 1930 in Athens, the son of the late Mr. George Wiley Thomas, Jr. and the late Mrs. Lenora Stone Thomas. Mr. Thomas served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He retired from AT & T after forty years of service. He is a member of Oak Hill Church of God of Prophecy.He is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Cochran Thomas of Temple; children, Melanie Gay of Forsyth, Teresa Winningham of Winston, Gail Minter of Powder Springs, Stella Smith of Powder Springs; David Smith of Dallas; sister, Linda Futral of Newnan; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Friday, April 11, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Barry George and Chaplain Sam Braswell officiating.
