George Lewis Turner

Mr. George Lewis Turner, age 89 of Douglasville, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024. He was born February 28, 1935 in Ballground, GA to the late Mr. Lawrence Turner and the late Mrs. Hazel Hobson Turner.

Lewis was a man of honor and dedication, proudly serving as a Marine, a role that held a special place in his heart. Outside of his military service, George found joy and fulfillment in his work at Eastern Airlines, where his colleagues were like family to him. His dedication and passion for his work were evident to all who knew him. In his leisure time Lewis enjoyed bowling and playing golf.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Turner and Don Turner.

He is survived by daughters, Cheryl Turner of Powder Springs, Cindy (Dennis) West of Woodstock and Kim Turner of Essington, PA; 3 grandchildren, Nathaniel, Nicholas and Carly; several nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Turner was cremated.
