George W. Rivers

George W. Rivers, 80, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Rivers was born July 6, 1927 in Fayette County, Georgia; the son of the late Mr. Vester Rivers and Mrs. Nona Knight Rivers. Mr. Rivers retired from Ford Motor Company where he worked as a Quality Control Inspector. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mrs. Shirley Mae Stanford Rivers. Survivors include daughters, JoAnn Davis and Shirley Rivers, both of Griffin; and sons, Michael Rivers of Villa Rica, and Robert Rivers of Jenkinsburg; sister, Wilene Reeves of Griffin; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, May 19, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park in Villa Rica.
