Gerald Buchanan

Mr. Gerald Buchanan, 64, of Winston, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born December 5, 1943 in Haralson County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Elbert J. Buchanan and the late Mrs. Essie Chaney Buchanan. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church and was previously a member of Cochran Ridge Baptist Church in Hiram. He worked in the maintenance department and as a plumber for the Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department. He was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, Randa Tyson Price Buchanan of Winston; his sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Alice Buchanan and Kenneth and Karen Buchanan all of Douglasville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Dick Mooneyham of Douglasville and Diane and Larry Hubbard of Cedartown; brother, Ray Buchanan of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Melissa Buchanan, Ashley Buchanan, and Jessica Buchanan; great-grandchildren, Haley Eriquezzo and Michelle Eriquezzo; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 4:00 PM from Ephesus Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Godwin and Brother Rick Eaves officiating. He will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 3:30 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Ephesus Cemetery. The following will serve as pallbearers: Danny Goddard, Earl Kiker, Morris Ellison, Danny Denny, Cody Price, and Kyle Price. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica, Friday, October 3, 2008 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM and on Saturday, October 4, 2008 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
