Gerald Burnell Cole

Gerald Burnell Cole, age 85, of Temple, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024. He was born on March 5, 1939, the son of the late Earl and Ada White Cole.

Gerald was known for his deep love for his family and his dedication to his church. He was a devoted husband who adored his wife and a loving father. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, bringing him endless joy and laughter.

 He was a proud US Army Veteran and he found joy in exploring new places through traveling and camping. Gerald will be dearly missed by all who knew him

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his great-grandson, Nicholas Grant.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Norma Sue Suddeth Cole; daughters and sons-in-law, Dana (Ronald) Norton of Carrollton and Jennifer (Jon) Montgomery of Villa Rica; sister, Janelle Couch of Temple; seven grandchildren, Jared (Morgan) Norton, Amanda Norton (Brandon) Prosser, Chelsea (Patrick) McDonald, Kaylin Holder, William Holder, Chase (Ashli) Montgomery, and John Montgomery, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren, Presley, Bryson, Harper, Kinsley, Hayden, Brennan, Raiden, and Andrew; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Paul Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Jared Norton, Brandon Prosser, William Holder, Patrick McDonald, Robin McCord, David Merritt, Caleb Merrit and Colby Griggs.
