Geraldine Ivey Cole

Geraldine Ivey Cole, 93, of Douglasville, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born on May 7, 1932, the daughter of the late Willie Lee Ivey and the late Mary Clistie Broadwater Ivey.

Geraldine was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose nurturing spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. As a devoted homemaker, Geraldine took pride in creating a loving home for her family. She enjoyed each day with a cup of coffee in hand. Her care extended beyond her home, as she was an active church member and served countless hours at Sweetwater Missions, exemplifying her strong commitment to helping others.

Geraldine’s warm and engaging personality made her a beloved figure among family and friends. She had the unique ability to connect with people through conversation, often spending hours chatting on the phone with her loved ones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Duma Milton Cole; six sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Phil Powell of Douglasville; son, Kim Cole of Douglasville; sister, Sue Chadwick of Carrollton; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert and Carol Ivey of Douglasville, Gene Ivey of Carrollton; grandchildren, Josh and Brook Powell, Adam Powell, and Savannah Cole; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Villa Rica Chapel with Rev. Terry Pearman officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Garden of Memories.

Her legacy is one of kindness and compassion. Geraldine Ivey Cole will be remembered not only for her nurturing presence but for the countless moments of joy and comfort she provided throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
