Geraldine Lance Moreland

Geraldine Moreland, 94, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 in Douglasville, Georgia. She was born in Dahlonega, Georgia, on August 19, 1930 to the late Mr. Leonard Harley Lance and the late Mrs. Mabel Lance.

Geraldine moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1938 where she graduated from Fulton High School. She moved to Douglas County, Georgia, in the 1970’s and began working at the Douglas County Courthouse where she worked in the Tax Commissioners office, the County Commissioners office and eventually retired as the Telecommunications Director.

Geraldine enjoyed being outdoors and working around the yard. She was an avid reader who could start and finish a book in an afternoon with a purring cat on her lap.

She is predeceased by her husband, Mr. William G. Moreland.

Geraldine is survived by her brother, Mr. Leonard C. Lance; nieces, Candace Fowler and Andrea Lance; as well as a number of great-nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Geraldine Moreland was cremated. Her family will host a private celebration of life at a later date.
