Geraldine Olivia Berry Hendrix

Mrs. Geraldine Olivia Berry Hendrix, age 82, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, October 18, 2019. She was born August 5, 1937 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Mr. Grover Augustus Berry and the late Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Wallace Berry. Mrs. Hendrix loved to read and needlepoint. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Douglasville for over 40 years. Mrs. Hendrix loved her church, especially her Sunday School Class and was a devoted Christian woman. She was a homemaker who loved being with and caring for her family. Mrs. Hendrix enjoyed fishing and was an Atlanta Braves fan. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Dixon "J.D." Hendrix and her sisters, Dorothy Parrott, Jean Kirby, Jeanne Potts and Wilma Berry. Mrs. Hendrix is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Jeff DeBorde of Douglasville; her son, Kent Brown of Lithia Springs; her sister, Lois Drodge of Huber Heights, Ohio; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. According to Mrs. Hendrix wishes, she will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Douglasville from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the First Baptist Church, Douglasville with Dr. John Pennington and Pastor Michael Kimberly officiating.
