Gertrud Simpson

Mrs. Gertrud Anna Lies Simpson, age 86, of Lithia Springs, Georgia, formerly of Columbus, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born June 12, 1927 in Germany the daughter of the late Mr. Paul Lies and the late Mrs. Gertrud Machenich Lies. She retired as a seamstress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd N. Simpson. She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Chris and Shelly Simpson of Lithia Springs, GA, Michael and Brandy Simpson of Florida, Elizabeth and Emil Puhak of Richmond Hill, GA, Sandra and George Abdelnour of North Carolina, Steve Simpson of Arizona, Deborah Rivera of Columbus, GA, and Carol Simpson of California; one brother, Hines Lies of Germany; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
