Gertrude Louise Davis Faulkner

Mrs. Gertrude Louise Davis Faulkner, age 80, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020. She was born November 11, 1939 in Chatham County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Braxton Davis and the late Cora Bell Wilson. Mrs. Faulkner worked as a registered nurse in Savannah for many years. She sang at the Grand Ole Opry back in the 1980's and performed with Willie Nelson several times. Mrs. Faulkner was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Villa Rica. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five children. Mrs. Faulkner is survived by her husband, Stanley Ray Faulkner of Douglasville; her daughter, Rena (Bill) Vanslyke of Douglasville; her son, Johnnie Tyler of Savannah and three other children, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. According to her wishes, Mrs. Faulkner will be cremated. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 12:00Noon at the First Pentecostal Church in Villa Rica with Brother Eddie Allen officiating.
